When you live in an RV like me, you definitely have to get creative when it comes to implementing your own personal style all while making sure it’s functional as well. I love the challenge of finding ways to make the most of our space! The best tip I could give anyone when it comes to organizing your RV and unlocking its full potential is to USE VERTICAL SPACE. Living in an RV full time doesn’t have to stressful or chaotic, it can give you the chance to be creative and still make your space represent your personal style.

Depending on what kind of RV you have will determine what you can and want to change, but this is a beautiful example of a boring, dingy bedroom turned into a bright and beautiful space! The white walls and cabinets with the gold accents pop so nicely. The walls in our RV were almost the same color as this before picture until I painted them bright white! I will write a post on our RV renovation in the future.
Ditch the RV furniture
Don’t get me wrong, some of the newer, more expensive RV’s have nicer furniture options but those aren’t the kind of RV’s I’m talking about. Our RV came with the stock dinette featuring bench seats with storage underneath and a stand alone table. The storage was a nice touch but the whole dinette made the space feel so bulky and impersonal so I replaced the whole thing with this cute set off Amazon! The dinette set sure didn’t want to part from the RV because I had a heck of a time ripping that bad boy out. Just when I thought I unscrewed every screw to take the bench seats out, it still wouldn’t budge! I had to get my dad’s help to basically rip them out of the wall exposing a hidden set of screws! SO crazy! I will take photos of our RV as soon as I have the chance to, but in the meantime I’ve shown examples so you have an idea of what we had before and after.

The couch that faces the TV in our RV was all scratched up, I’m assuming from a cat, maybe? Not sure. Anyways, I knew that wasn’t going to fly so I headed on over to good ole trusty Amazon to find a better suited couch for our family! Keeping functionality in mind, I was aiming for something comfortable but also with some built in storage. I found the perfect couch! It’s well suited for a smaller living room space like what you need in an RV and the chaise part lifts up revealing a large storage space! It also transforms into a bed!!!!All of the cushions are removable, and I think the covers can be removed to wash but I haven’t done that yet. I will say the only downside is that the couch itself is on the smaller side so when you go to lean back, the cushions only go up to about mid-back. That has not affected our family too much and the perks of this couch outweigh the downfalls.
The chaise storage space has become our dedicated toy box since my 3 year old son can lift up the cushion on his own, he can get his toys out and also put them away himself. Overall we love this couch and it is perfect for lounging around for our family movie nights. I do however wish there was another color option because, ya know, toddlers.
